Patriotic Song Competition

R. H. Patel English Medium B.Ed. College conducted the Virtual Patriotic Song Competition through ZOOM application for Semester-1 students (freshers) 2020-22 ELOCUTION COMPETITION on 14 August, 2020 as part of CCA Activity. To expose our students to music, while also enhancing their language and presentation skills. Music ignites all areas of student’s development: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Patriotic songs are songs that demonstrate love for one’s country, or have themes that glorify self-sacrifice, land’s beauty, history or ideals.
The students prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs were presented. While the choice of songs ranged from the patriotic to the popular, it was interesting that each student had worked hard to comprehend the lyrics and sing the songs with conviction. Their songs invoked a strong sense of patriotism in each one who listened. The room was resplendent with a feeling of belonging and pride. We discovered potential talent in singing from amongst our students and are very optimistic that these students will bring glory to the college in the future. All the participants performed exceptionally well, winning accolades for their performance. The competition gave a lot of encouragement and confidence to the performers and to all the students present on the virtual classroom.
The judge (Shri Surjit Vaghela) was invited on the Virtual platform of ZOOM app to speak a few words of advice for improvement and of encouragement. The young and gifted singers had won the hearts of the judges, who was overwhelmed by their singing skills and preparation. This was followed by the announcing of the winners, amidst thunderous applauding. The confidence, expression and talent of the Semester-1 students (2020-22) made the event truly memorable.
