Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal has been established in the year 1919, by a Philanthropist PujyaChhaganbha. The basic principle preached by him “કર ભલા હોગા ભલા” has been the driving force for the growth of the education activities managed by the trust. Having started with just 6 students then, today the trust manages and runs various schools and colleges both at Kadi and Gandhinagar with more than 50000 students being educated. Of these 50000 students, around 8000 students, both boys, and girls stay in the hostels being managed by the trust.

Mahatma Gandhi, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Sir Sayajjirao Gaekwad, Narendra Modi, and Astronaut Sunita Williams had been the distinguished visitors who blessed the institute from time to time. Mahatma
Gandhiji blessed the institute and expressed :“This trust is built on pillars of service to mankind, not money. It is true that this trust does not have money but society will nourish it. By sending your children to the institutions managed by this trust, you are making your children good citizens of the country”.

Having started in the year 1919, the trust slowly and steadily made its presence felt in society with the efforts of “Chhaganbha.” In the year 1977 Government of Gujarat has invited the trust to set up educational institutions at Gandhinagar which would foster the development of Capital City of Gujarat by allotting land in Sector 23, Gandhinagar. Since then the trust has set up many educational institutions and hostels which have proved to be the backbone of the development of education in the State of Gujarat and currently thousands of students are being educated at Gandhinagar campus of which around 3500 students both boys & girls are staying in the hostel. At present, the SVKM has four campus at Kadi and Gandhinagar.

In 1995, the Trust decided to expand and in a short period of time established a number of self-financed Institutions with different courses such as B.Pharm., M.Pharm., B.B.A., M.B.A., B.C.A., M.C.A., P.G.D.C.A., B.Sc., M.Sc., Engineering, Nursing & Polytechnic, Physiotherapy, M.S.W., etc. There is no management quota in any of the colleges under Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya. After the establishment of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya M.Phil. & Ph.D. Program is accelerated in various discipline of University. The Trust has created a strong base by commencing B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. (Education) program for providing quality teachers, teacher educators, and Researchers.

In the year 2007 a University under the name “Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya” has been established by the arduous efforts of Late Shri Maneklal M. Patel Sir, then Chairman of Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal.

The trust is being nourished by the society on the whole and managed by its alumni who occupy respectable positions in the society. The overseas Indian Community showers in donations to benefit the students for providing them better facilities for study as well as stay.

The trust has always been in the forefront for provision of value-based education to all the students in schools and colleges irrespective of Caste, Creed, Religion, etc. Keeping in with the main motto “Kar Bhala Hoga Bhala” the admissions to the various courses are given on the basis of merit.

The trust also has taken up activities like adopting Anganwadis and Government Schools at Gandhinagar and is very much committed to taking these initiatives forward with rigor for the betterment of the children in these places.
